Do You Use TAGS for Your WordPress Blog?

I recently came back from Norway.

While I was enjoying my holiday there, I wrote a short article about how you can use your SEO knowledge to help local business while making some decent money.

Surprisingly, this blog post brought me some new traffics for the keyword “SEO Company in Oslo” and “SEO consultant in Oslo”.

Even this is not the 10,000 visitors/day type of keyword, the keyword itself is long tailed and very specific.

The internet users must be searching a consultant or a company in Oslo who can perform SEO.

SERP Number 1 out of 47800 results for SEO consultant in Oslo, without quote. (dated 28 March 11)

SERP Number 8 out of 6,300,000 results for SEO consultant in Oslo, without quote. (dated 28 March 11)

However, if you read my blog post, you will not be able to find these two key phrases in the blog content itself.

I am actually having this two key phrases at my Tags at the end of my post.

That is one of my small little secret to rank high for keywords or keyphrase.

Nordic World Ski Championship in Oslo

Took a flight to Oslo to catch up the 2011 Fis Nordic World Ski Championship.

Travel is funded using the money made online.

Shh…. no one in the company knows I am going to this event. Ha ; )

If we take a look in terms of Search Optimization, I bet SEO in Oslo is keen to optimize pages which is written in English.

Manage to find one SEO company (http://www.qualite.no/) information but still all in Norwegian… ha

When I do a search for “ski championships Oslo”, the information is quite limited.

No Adwords and it is just 277,000 search results to beat.

And domain names related to this event are mostly available!

Some readers of this blog wrote to me and ask me how to make money from internet.

My advise is you don’t need to look far.

Look around you home, your town, your city, what is the hottest event will happen in the next 3-6 months.

Build your business ideas around that events, says for this Ski Championships in Oslo, you can set up a simple website,
use your SEO knowledge make it to the top of SERP, optimize some specific keywords that know to you, then offer the ads space on your website for local boutiques, restaurants and hotels. You might need 2- 3 hours a day to complete this task.

Plan –> Actions

You can do all this, but what stopping you is just you are too lazy.

If you want a better life than what you are having now, take some actions.

You are walking on the street and here comes a stranger, telling you:

Would you hand him the money?

I bet 50: 50.

Some will think, why not?. Giving $1 and to buy a hope to get $27,465.

The other half will be rational and walk away.

This is how I felt with the internet marketing world today.

This month alone, I have received tons of email promoting “push button and you broke software”, “ultimate blogging secrets”, “Mostly Bull Shit (MBS) 2.0”, “automated incoming traffic”.

I will not say it is impossible to be rich online but I do not think you will learn how to by paying that tiny $37.

If you are really thinking to make money online, I would recommend you start off by helping others to achieve what they want.

For example, you can offer help to local business owners to build website. Walk along the street, I can guarantee out of 10 shop owners you meet, at least 5 still do not own a website or maintain a website properly.

For those shop owners who already own a website, you can offer them rank higher on the SERP service (if you are a follower of my blog, you are SEO ready to offer this service : ).

You can also help to create a business profile at Google map at $10. (I made real $100-$200 doing this over few boring weekends).

You can even use the SEO knowledge you have to make a personal blog, push your search ranking higher on the internet search related to your work.

(Boss, I just got our company ranked first for the keyword “plumber”)

In short, the possibility to make money online is limitless.

But just don’t waste your money buying some unrealistic “hopes”.

My Pagerank is back!

In 2009, this blog is PR3.

Then, a mishap, i lost all the backup for this blog while I switched to a new hosting company.

For a period of 6 months (July09-Jan11), the blog is totally empty.

Of course, PR drops to 0 as well.

Early this year, after updating the blog, within 2 weeks, my Pagerank is now back to PR1.

It seems like Google still endorses this blog. : )

Google only recognize pathetic 2 backlinks to my site.

How can I still maintain No.3 out of 363,000,000 SERP position for keyword rank high.
